Fascination
Final Artwork

Artist Statement
This is a photo for the word Fascination and is meant to represent the mental disorder Narcissism. This is a mental disorder in which people are exceedingly vain, and tend to think everyone should worship them and give them whatever they want. They are truly in love with them self and don't see why anyone wouldn't be. They are, in short, fascinated with them self and that is what I was trying to portray in this picture.
I purposely wanted the picture itself to be simple because it is not a truly complex disorder and at it's basest it is an over appreciation for one's self. It is a simple picture of someone creating a heart with them self. It is almost meant to give the feel as if someone is looking in a mirror. She is also hugging herself in a gesture of self affection. The background is white and she is dressed in all black. This is meant to be a representation of how she sees herself standing out strong against society. If I were to shoot this photo again I would have pulled her farther away from the wall so as to get rid of the obvious shadow.
