Tension
Final Artwork

Artist Statement
This is a photo that is meant to represent the word Tension as related to Anxiety. Anxiety is a mental disorder where people feel unnecessary and irrational panic and paranoia, They have trouble stopping or calming this paranoia and panic. This photo is meant to depict the state many people with anxiety may find themselves in at some point. I wanted to really capture the essence of the feeling of overwhelming anxiety.
The person in the picture is currently experiencing the height of a prolonged anxiety attack, One of the main parts is the blanket surrounding their face which is there for two purposes. One is that the blanket represents comfort, familiarity, and protection that the person wants to wrap themselves in. Two is in the literal sense that many people experiencing anxiety attacks wrap them self in a blanket. The gold tears are there to represent the anxiety itself, and it is symbolizing how in an anxiety attack the anxiety comes up so much in a person that it leeches out in adrenaline, panic, and paranoia. This photo is really just meant to be more of a depiction of an event rather than a conveyance of anything.
